Vitaly Ratner said that the lynx who reportedly belonged to a private zoo was caught using a lasso by the center"s employees when local residents called the police.
"The animal was frightened and climbed a tree and the first tranquilizing shot hit the lynx"s paw and failed to put her to sleep," he said.
The police are currently seeking the lynx"s owner.
